Financial Controller/Finance Manager - Maidstone, Kent, Kent
Reporting to the Finance Director, we are searching for an experienced Financial Controller on behalf of our established client.
The main function of the role is to ensure a highly professional service is provided to all its internal and external stakeholders.
Applicants MUST BE a fully qualified Accounts (CIMA) with solid experience in a similar role and MUST HAVE also worked within a manufacturing environment. Applicants without this important combination of experince regrettably cannot be considered.
Education & Qualifications
The Financial Controller must be fully qualified Accountant (CIMA), with solid experience in a similar finance role. You must also have a track record of managing staff. The Finance Controller must have excellent IT and communication skills.
Job Purpose
Provide sound financial advice to senior management colleagues. Provide an effective financial management service to the company. Act as the leading interface between the Financial Director and senior Management on financial matters. Establish and maintain financial procedures for the company. To provide effective operational financial planning, monitoring, accounting and reporting
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Managing the Accounts Department.
Providing strategic support to Directors and Senior Management on key business proposals, capital projects and budgetary controls
Ensuring financial management information is prepared for all group marketing and support functions
Maintenance of both companies accounting and financial records including the production of monthly Management Accounts, reports and monthly sheets
Maintain records to meet legal and tax requirement and to measure both the inputs and the outcomes of the company?s operations. Provide accounting services for use by managers in planning and controlling the work of the company, this includes financial accounting, management accounting, forecasting, budgeting and control systems.
Ensure timely collection of all debts.
Assist prepare and analyse Monthly Management Accounts by department and consolidate results.
Assist and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts - includes pre-payments, accruals, purchases and finance agreements.
Ensure PAYE and VAT legislative and operational requirements are met.
Ensuring robust controls are in place for all inter-company processes
Prepare the statutory annual accounts for the Finance Director
Manage payroll accurately to timescale and company standard.
Prepare and provide analysis of Manufacturing Software to relevant Managers and Finance Director as required.

Experience in preparing accounts to statutory requirements and of managing the relationship with external auditors
Transport essential due to location.
