SWITCH MODE POWER SUPPLY ENGINEER / SMPS ENGINEER - Maidstone, Kent
Due to expansion there is now a rare opportunity for a Senior Switch Mode Power Supply Engineer to join a leading company in Maidstone, Kent. Candidates MUST have switch mode / SMPS experience. The organisation provides a range of highly specified products and services for restricted environments including Defence, Telecommunications and Aerospace. Salary for the Senior Switch Mode Power Supply Engineer is up to ?50k + pension plan.
Candidates MUST have extensive experience of switch mode power supplies. Please do NOT apply if you do not have switchmode experience. Role reports to the Chief Engineer.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support in the preparation of Technical Proposals including cost issues
Design and development of new projects to meet customer requirements.
Record all aspects of the project design, development and design activities
Hardware test and de-bugging both at company site and customer premises
Support Production Department in areas relating to the design and performance of production hardware
Prepare for and attend meetings with customers
Liaise with various departments on project design and development
Attend and support internal Design Reviews.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Experienced Power Supply Design Engineer with a degree in electronic engineering
A minimum of 5 years design experience in the field of industrial, communications or military power supplies.
Capable of providing technical and financial control of own development projects.
Proven conceptual design experience and an ability to design to low and medium volume production cost targets.
A self-starting and motivating Team Leader.
